The Media plays the same role as Aaron did who bore the testimony and witness of the Word of God to Pharaoh.

When we think of Moses and Pharaoh, we often forget the important role Aaron played as the intermediary, the one who spoke to Pharaoh for Moses.  But that’s what happened: The word of God came to Moses to bring about the deliverance of the Israelites, but God let Moses speak to Pharaoh through Aaron.  God recently told us during prayer Aaron is like the Media, it is the testimony and witness of God’s word to the World. 

I had a hard time understanding that, because the Holy Spirit is the one who is truly at work when we preach, pray and get saved.  But I recognize what a blessing having a real Bible in my hand is.  Imagine if we didn’t have the Bible in simple to read languages, in hard copy, in print on paper?  How would we ever find God’s truth?  It would be that much harder.  And that’s how I understand what God said to us, the Bible is a carrier of the testimony and witness of God in the same way our personal testimony is, the way a movie about the Passion of Christ is, the same way a website about God is, the same way Christian music is.  It is media, it is a link in the chain of communication from heavenly God to earthly man.  And it is very important.

Without Media, or the entire system of mass communication, it would impossible to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ in our lifetimes.  But with the media it is an achievable goal.  God actually created the Media, by giving mankind the knowledge and skills to create radio, TV, the internet, printing presses, music and systems of distribution, for a purpose.  Have you ever considered that?  I read recently in the Journal of the Unknown Prophet that the Lord created the world media system to preach the Gospel and strengthen the community in the knowledge of God.  Whether we believe God created the world media or whether we simply recognize it as a useful tool in communicating to large numbers of people, it is a valuable resource if used by the right hands.

But it is truly sad that we, as the salt of the earth, as the guardians of decency and justice on earth, have not guarded media better than we have, but we have turned a blind eye as propaganda, pornography, gossip and the occult have filled the world’s media, saturating the minds of the entire world with a bondage to evil thoughts, an evil world view, a hopeless life.

Media is a tool that is necessary for us to be able to fulfill the commission Jesus gave us to disciple nations, to spread the revelation of God, to tell the whole world that Jesus died for them and they can be free.  And media is a great weapon of mass destruction in the hands of the enemy of life.  The scope of God’s work on the earth is so large that we need all the wisdom and resources at our disposal to do the best we can to fulfill our callings on earth.  The Media is one of the most powerful tools in the earth realm, more powerful than money, and more powerful than war in my opinion.  I encourage anyone I meet to consider the way they use media, to consider the way they support media, and to consider helping the Body of Christ to use media for it is God’s given purpose to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth.
